Michikusa Travel WEB Journal is a free English-language paper and website for international travelers, who wish to explore Kyushu deeply and experience the region like a local.
Since its founding in 2000, Michikusa Journal has introduced active, in-depth tourism information originating locally in Japanese. Editor-in-Chief Eiko Fukunaga grew up in Italy and relocated to Southern Kyushu in 2000. From the start, she felt the southern Kyushu resembles Italy and possesses remarkable potential as a tourist destination. Warm climate, rich food culture, beautiful coastlines, and captivating mountains―both regions share compelling tourist appeal. Fukunaga has organized numerous remarkable experiences exploring the Kyushu islands and founded a travel company enabling immersive journeys like a local resident. She is convinced now is the perfect time to launch the English-Japanese travel WEB journal MICHIKUSA for those who cherish deeply rooted, immersive travel in Kyushu’s Regions.
